Support Groups and Mentoring

Zoe's Peer Group:
Girls who attend this group are provided with an opportunity to meet twice each month with other girls like themselves. Quality adult supervision for children is provided by volunteers while the girls meet under the tutelage of a former teen mom. The girls share successes, concerns and life experiences and the conversation flows according to what the girls want to talk about; there is no set agenda. A nutritious meal is provided at every meeting and transportation is arranged whenever possible.

Girls should call Jane Fiedler to register so that provisions can be made for food and care for babies.

Mentoring
Most of the girls we work with do not have the support, guidance and resources our own children or other children we care about have.  Zoe’s mentoring program matches caring adult women with pregnant teens and teen moms who live in Bergen County. Each Zoe’s mentor is required to be thoroughly screened and trained and to make a one-year commitment to the girl she is matched with. A connection to a caring adult is key to accessing the potential each and every girl has. Mentoring opens that door.

If you are interested in becoming a Mentor complete our Volunteer Form and you will be contacted shortly.  Volunteer Form word file or pdf.
